Meantime I've listened to the snippet of "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" which provoked a memory of José Feliciano's album "10 To 23".

Do you have that album, Erik?

It contains the best instrumental version I've heard of "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" - so good that, when I set the poser on 29 DEC 2006 for Webbheads to nominate their Top Ten of JW numbers but with the stipulation that the Ten had to be performed by ten different artists, I included this instrumental track by Feliciano.
